A COVENANT FOR A MEANINGFUL AND SUSTAINABLE PEACE AND
DEVELOPMENT
WHERAS, an understanding has been reached between
CHRISTIAN PEACE ALLIANCE (CPA) and INTERNATIONAL MOVEMENT ON PEACE, UNITY AND
RECONCILIATION/UNITY FOR REVIVAL FOUNDATION INC. “MUSLIM GROUP ALLIACNE” for
brevity, both having their own separate juridical personalities, join forces
and coalesce as one political force in the coming 2016 national and local
elections;
WHEREAS, it was agreed upon on January 6 at Rembrandt
Hotel, Quezon City by and between SHARIFF IBRAHIM ALBANI and DR. RICARDO IV D.
FULGENCIO MM DEL together with the confluence of other organizations present
that day, like Liga ng Brodkasters ng Pilipinas that are supportive of the general
vision and mission of this Covenant;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED AS IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT
BOTH PARTIES ADOPT THIS
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
To wit:
THAT the CHRISTIAN PEACE ALLIANCE (CPA) and the MUSLIM
GROUP ALLIANCE have decided uniting for the national interest of Christians,
Muslims and Indigenous People in the Philippines and participating in the
forthcoming national and local elections on May 9, 2016
THAT the leadership of the parties firmly believes in the
promulgation of moral ascendancy, dignity and character and most of all
sovereignty alongside the cultural diversity, of the Filipino, ensuring his
liberty, goodwill and happiness;
That THE LEADERSHIP OF THE AFORESAID PARTIES ARE COMMITED
TO FIGHT FOR THE PRESERVATION OF A JUST AND HUMANE SOCIETY.
THAT there is a need to combine the resources and
struggles of all the parties to realize the cherished dreams of the Filipino
people for a real change in government and society.
